Norton First in Precision Safety (2000): A video showing grinding wheel precision safety designed for the end user/customer. Filmed at Saint-Gobain Abrasives in Worcester, MA. Running time is approximately 15 minutes. This video focuses on bench grinder and large fixed based machine grinding safety. Tips on proper wheel storage, grinding wheel mounting and machine usage are also included. It is a must for all our customers using fixed based machines. This video is available in English.

“Safety Guide for Grinding Wheel Users,” should be posted near each work station. It is our standard Do’s and Don’ts listing the requirements for our customers using fixed based equipment. This guide is a great check list for the end use operators. Please note that these safety guides are shipped with our grinding wheels, and this safety guide is printed in English, French and Spanish.

“A Primer on Grinding Wheel Safety,” is an easy to read safety article of instructions for the safe use of grinding wheels. It has colorful cartoons and is designed to be an aid in the training of the grinding wheel end user. It is available in English and Spanish. “Mounted Wheels, Principles of Safe and Efficient Operation with Tables of Maximum Operating Speeds,” is our guide shipped with all of our mounted points. This guide is a “must have” for those uses of mounted points on die or inline grinders. It is available in English.
- ANSI B7.1-2000 “Safety Requirements for the Use, Care and Protection of Abrasive Wheels,” is the grinding wheel user and grinding wheel manufacturer’s safety bible. This book (155 pages) lists the grinding wheel industry standards and is a must for supervisors, engineers, set-up people and end-users. This book lists all of the industry requirements and will answer most questions that relate to grinding wheel safety. It is available in English.
- The GWI (now the UAMA) booklet (14 pages) titled, “Mounting Technique for Cylindrical and Centerless Grinding Wheels,” is designed to assist end-users in mounting grinding wheels on sleeve mount assemblies. Improper mounting is a major cause of wheel breakages on this type of machine. It is available in English.
