Diamond Dressing Rolls - Reverse Plated

Diamond Dressing Rolls - Reverse Plated

Reverse Plated diamond dressing rolls are used primarily for plunge dressing, where the profile (shape) of the diamond surface emulates the customer part. The diamond grit is secured with an electroplated Nickel matrix. Diamond is randomly distributed in this dressing roll, with a very high concentration. Because the precision of the diamond profile is designed into the manufacturing process, the diamond is not usually shaped or "lapped". By not lapping the diamond, the sharp, natural points provide a good dressing action resulting in a open grinding wheel, lower grinding forces and thus a more accurate customer part.

New! For truing today's tough ceramic grinding wheels, premiere reverse plated diamond rolls provide superior, durability and profile retention, with excellent workpiece surface finish.

  • High concentration of diamond
  • Faster dressing cycle time versus traverse dressing
  • Natural "unlapped" diamond points / cutting edges
  • High wear resistance / long life
  • High precision versus cost
  • Complex forms available

Reverse plated dressing rolls consist of the nickel matrix that holds the diamond and a stainless steel core. The core is bonded to the nickel/diamond ring using either an epoxy or filler alloy.  This bonding agent results in the dressing rolls being sensitive to heat and impact. Proper care is required to prevent damage to the diamond profile. Training material and assistance is available from Saint-Gobain on the proper care and use of this precision product.
