Diamond Dressing Rolls - Infiltrated

Infiltrated diamond dressing rolls are used primarily for plunge dressing, where the profile (shape) of the diamond surface emulates the customer part. The diamond grit is secured with a Tungsten powder metal matrix, infiltrated with bronze. Custom setting patterns provide a wide range of setting options to optimize dressing pressures. Diamond concentration, size and type can vary in different parts of the profile to optimize the finish of the part and the life of the dressing roll.
  • Multiple diamond setting options available
  • Faster dressing cycle time versus traverse dressing
  • Lower concentration of larger, robust diamonds
  • High wear resistance / lng life
  • Optional reinforcing of high wear areas available
  • Rugged, able to withstand tough conditions
  • Good economic choice for simpler forms
  • Profile can usually be reconditioned to print specifications

Infiltrated rolls are rugged and can perform in more abusive applications than reverse plated rolls.  While reverse plated rolls are fragile to heat and impact, infiltrated rolls can withstand tougher conditions that can cause distortion to the profile. For this reason, this technology is normally used when the application requires extremely harsh dressing or exposure to high temperatures.
