Diamond Dressing Rolls - BPR Profiling Discs

DiamondDressingRolls-BPRApp.jpg
Bonded Profiling Rolls are diamond discs with a single layer of diamond oriented to provide a consumable section of diamond. The diamond is chemically attached to a steel core. The diamond fin is consumable, and maintains a consistent thickness throughout its life. This consistency is perfect for CNC applications where variation in the dress process or wheel condition is a problem.  The chemical bond between the metal and the diamond allows us to manufacturing diamond disks with thickness ranging from .010" (0.25mm) to .050" (1.25mm).
  • Great for dressing G-Force® diamond and cBN Wheels
  • Constant "wear flat" gives consistent dress over life of roll

BPR's with extremely narrow widths (.010" to .020") are great for dressing intricate shapes, however the life of the dresser is proportional to the diamond section width. Wider diamond sections with larger diamond particles (.040" to .050") are preferred when the geometry to be dressed allows, due to the improved life of the diamond roll.

Rotation
  • Counterdirectional (as determined at the point the wheel and roll contact)
Speed
  • Conventional Abrasives- 30% -50% of Wheel Surface Feet Per Minute (SFPM).
  • Superabrasives- 50-80% of Wheel Surface Feet Per Minute (SFPM)
Infeed Amount
(Wheel Removed per Dress Pass):
  • Conventional:
    • Aluminum Oxide .0015"
    • SG .00075"
    • Targa .0005"
  • Superabrasives:
    • Resin Diamond .00005"
    • Resin CBN:  .0001"
Overlap Ratio
  • Determines traverse rate
  • Dependent upon grit size of wheel, RPM and desired wheel condition
