Metallurgical Non-Reinforced Cut-off Wheels (9" – 13.75") were developed specifically for sectioning samples for microscopic analysis and available in aluminum oxide (for hard, medium and soft metals, ferrous alloys and tool steels) and silicon carbide (for titanium and other nonferrous metals).
Non-reinforced cut-off wheels are used only on "fixed based" machines where the work is securely clamped and the wheel adequately guarded, and the design of the machine such that the wheel operates in a controlled cutting plane.
