Centerless and Feed Wheels

Centerless grinding is a production process that produces extremely close tolerances on metal cylindrical forms or parts. Centerless grinding is used on a wide variety of workpieces. The key components in the process are the grinding wheel, the work rest blade (used to support the work) and the regulating or “feed” wheel (the drive mechanism for the workpiece). We also carry stock rubber and plastic feed wheels.

Typical Applications and Industries

• High production operations on large volume continuous grinding
• Parts ranging from miniature roller bearings to train axles and bearings
• Fastener manufacturing
• Tool manufacturing
• Steel mills
• Automotive related components
• Bearing
• Machine tools
• Aircraft
• Turbine blades – land- and air-based

32AC Centerless Wheels

Norton 32AC Centerless Wheels are made from blended aluminum oxide and silicon carbide in a resinoid bond making them ideal when one wheel is used to grind several different materials from high to low tensile strengths.

57A Centerless Wheels

The strong, blocky-shaped aluminum oxide abrasive grain in a vitrified bond, make Norton 57A Centerless Wheels well suited for general purpose applications.

64A Centerless Wheels

Versatile Norton 64A Centerless Wheels feature a specially blended aluminum oxide abrasive in a vitrified bond; economical price.

Gemini Non-Stock Centerless Wheels

Gemini Non-stock Wheels are versatile general purpose centerless wheels, offering consistent performance at an economical initial price.

Rubber and Plastic Feed Wheels

Feed wheels, often called regulating wheels, are used in centerless grinding operations to regulate or drive the workpiece along the workpiece rest blade.
